Do tickets have to be purchased in advance? May I pay cash? 

Tickets must be purchased in advance and are easily purchased through the “buy tickets” link on the website using debit or credit cards.
Unfortunately,we do not have a way to accept cash. 

How much food is served on the tour? 

Our tours provide enough food for a moderately sized dinner.
The tour is a three-course meal - where the evening begins with a few appetizers, then the main entrée is served, and then there will be dessert. Most participants report feeling comfortably full at the conclusion of the tour. 


How much walking is involved? Is it a fast-paced tour? 

Each tour is chosen by district/area, which means that each restaurant is in close proximity to the next. However, we will have a short walk from our meeting point to the food district where the tour will take place. 

Do your tours have anything to offer someone living in Thessaloniki? 

While most of the participants are from other countries, people from Thessaloniki may learn something new about the process and/or choice of ingredients used for each of the courses. 

Does the tour guide accept gratuities? 

Yes! While not mandatory, gratuities are gratefully accepted. Our guides are professionals and create a great experience for all attending. Consider tipping generously if your guide has fulfilled your expectations. Thank you. 

What if I have dietary restrictions or allergies? 

We are happy to accommodate dietary restrictions, preferences, allergies if known in advance. When purchasing tickets you’ll be directed to comment on specific dietary needs. Please specify the number of those in the group requiring a special diet and dietary specifics. Our guides will follow up at the start of each tour to assure the dietary instructions are accurate and complete. 

If visiting Thessaloniki, when is it best to take a tour? 

It’s always a great time to take a food tour, but if visiting only for a few days, we recommend taking a tour early during your stay. That way possible new destinations may be added to existing plans and coupons received during the tour may be redeemed.
Is it possible to take children on the tour? 
Do infants or young children require a ticket? 

We do sell a youth priced ticket for ages 8 - 14. Contact us for cost and accommodations for children under 8. For any children attending, keep in mind the tour is 3.5 hours long and has a fair amount of listening and walking. We are happy to answer any questions you may have to help you determine if this is appropriate for your family. 

Is the tour wheelchair and baby stroller accessible? 

If known in advance, we will do what we can to accommodate those in wheelchairs or baby strollers. 

Are gift certificates available? 

Yes, gift certificates are always available and make great gifts. They can be obtained through the Gift Certificate page. 

Is it possible to plan a private tour? 

Yes, private tours are available and are great for business groups, other tour groups, and private parties celebrating special events such as Weddings, Birthdays, and special interests. A group tour request may be submitted through our Private Tour page. 

Are beverages served during the tour? 

Yes. As a part of our tour, we will be offering ouzo - a traditional Greek anise flavored liquor with the appetizer course. Wine will be served with the main-course,  For the third-course wine, coffee will be served.

Does the tour end at the starting point of the tour? 

No.  The tour ends at the last restaurant.  However, we will make every effort to help each of the participants get to wherever they need to go.   

What types of foods are served on the tour? 

We have hand-selected a traditional Greek menu for the tour - to include appetizers, a main course and a dessert. 

What happens other than sampling food? 

While we love sharing a taste of what is considered a traditional Greek menu, we strive to include participants in the process as well, so this means you not only taste, but you learn!
A live food demonstration will be featured at each of the restaurants – so you get real time Greek food knowledge – which you can then take home with you. 

Which restaurants are visited during the tour? 

Specific locations are provided on the Tour Info Page of our website. Please note venues are subject to change. 

Are tours offered in languages other than English? 

No, currently the tours are given only in English. Please contact us if you’d like to make arrangements for your own interpreter to join the tour. 

What happens if the weather is inclement? 

The tours are held rain or shine, except when conditions are potentially dangerous or impede the progress of the tour. While there are bound to be days of rain, wind or heat, we will cancel and reschedule a tour if conditions are dangerous or extreme. If we must cancel or stop a tour midway, tour participants may reschedule or be refunded if rescheduling is not possible. Participants are advised to prepare for all weather conditions. (sunscreen, water, umbrella, jacket, etc.) 

Are there bathrooms available during the tours?
Yes, there are public bathrooms available during the tour at many locations with time provided for use. 

Are cameras allowed on tours? 

Yes, photographs may be taken (and encouraged) during the tours, provided the tour experience is not disrupted for the other participants. And, feel free to email us or share your favorites on Facebook!
